Erik Wagner is an international dance artist, educator, choreographer, and movement consultant based in

San Francisco, California. He performed with the San Francisco Ballet, Béjart Ballet Lausanne and the Stadttheater Bern, in Switzerland.

 

Erik Wagner is a dance artist, choreographer, educator, film maker and movement consultant in San Francisco, California, where he leads ballet and contemporary movement practices. He performed as a company member with San Francisco Ballet, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, and the Stadttheater Bern Ballet in Switzerland. In 2023 he founded, Beholder, a platform to showcase live performance.

His choreographic works have been performed for the West Wave Dance Festival, Dance Lovers, KUNST-STOFF, Joe Goode-Feedback, SAFEhouse Arts, The News: Fresh Queer Performance, Lake Tahoe Dance Festival, Dance Theater of San Francisco, Stanford University, University of South Florida, Studio@620, and the no 10 works for the Lines Ballet Training Program. Other credits includes the choreography in AS IS, San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2016, and Rare Birds, a film he directed, choreographed, shot and edited. He assisted staging and choreography for the Fischerspooner concert in San Francisco.

Erik was a guest lecturer at Stanford University from 2013-2015, during which time he performed in Jerome Bel’s The Show Must Go On. In 2018, Dance Magazine live-streamed his class, and in 2019, Dance Teacher Magazine published his thoughts on teaching. Other teaching credits include Wayne McGregor Random Dance, Les Ballet Jazz du Montreal, Basel Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Smuin Ballet, Oakland Ballet, Complexions, Cedar Lake, University of South Florida, Gibbs High School for the Performing Arts, and internationally with the ProART Festival in Prague, Czech Republic.
