Shine (2017)
Shine came into being during a transition of power in the US presidency. While the piece is not a direct response to the event, one cannot ignore the growing consciousness of identity politics, and an increasing shift from inclusion to division. A state of fear and shock subtly permeate the work. It features uncertain, yet aspiring figures. Earthbound, weighted bodies gesture skyward, to pull themselves out of where they are.
